The Best Spring Break Ever

We may have started a thing.

Last summer, my daughter and I drafted a list of things/activities that would create “the best summer ever.” We decided to do the same for Spring Break. My mother says I can be anal sometimes. This might be true because after we drafted our thoughts on my whiteboard, I decided to create a table in a Google doc to share with my husband as well as print it out for myself. It wasn’t that I was trying to confine our overlapping Spring Breaks into a rigid schedule. I was moreso trying to be intentional. I knew those precious seconds, minutes, hours, and days would fly by unmaximized, and I could end the break unfulfilled if I didn’t plan- even plan to rest.

My daughter’s list:

  1. Spend time with you.

  2. Visit Grandmommy.

  3. Play with you.

  4. Go to the movies.

  5. Go to the planetarium.

My list- well nevermind my list. It was way too long and included cleaning, taxes, writing, Me time, dentist appointment, getting ahead on work tasks, etc.

What was more important than my list was the actual weekly plan with our collective activities.

Second Draft

Actual Week:

And it was truly the best Spring Break Ever.
