He's Got the Whole World In His Hands…So I Will Create

I don’t know how you’re processing all that is going on in the world. I don’t know how you have processed the historic suffering, oppression, and evil that seems pervasive since nearly the beginning of time. I’m not sure how you somatically respond to it all, but my heart grieves. My eyes dim. Anxiety and fear grip my heart and try to squeeze the life out of me.

But God.

Despite the ache I feel…the heaviness I constantly press through…the anxious thoughts that antagonize me…

Despite them all, hope ever arises.

Something in me settles and quiets at the hearing of Jennifer Hudson’s voice bellow out what my spirit knows to be true: “My God, He’s got the whole wide world in his hands…”

As she repeats this line, my spirit quickens and my soul lifts and leaps.

The Light within…

The Life within communicates a truth more powerful than the facts that try to suffocate me.

And this knowing that arises within beckons me to create…to write, to paint, to speak, to record, to love, to touch, to help, to LIVE fearlessly…freely…authentically.

Something in me knows that the Light overcomes darkness and all its attempts.

Light swallows up darkness.

Light prevails.

So in the face of death, trouble, disappointment, scary sounds and frightening sights,

I will be a vessel of the Light,

A vessel of Light that conquers, heals, and transforms.

I will create.

I will share.

I will allow His Light to ooze through

Every pencil, pen, and keyboard stroke,

In every drop of paint

In every second of my vlogging

In the content I create

In the stories I share

And through my life lived aloud.

I am safe to do so —No, I am compelled to do so —because He’s got me and the “whole wide world in His Hands.”

*I’m not sure what video was Tyler Perry’s original posting, but this is the clip from a challenge that went viral years ago. I’ve watched over and over just to hear Jennifer’s part. See link for original source.
